• Detailed analysis of user requirements, microclimate, aspect and soil conditions;

• Early consideration of the potential for developing an Environmental Infrastructure Framework including Green-Grey networks where appropriate; Promotion of pedestrians/ cycles over vehicle movements by selective use of traffic calming measures;

• Creation of inclusive environments;

• Exploration of local materials: availability, suitability and potential longevity; use of native species and where applicable, locally grown stock;

• Development of sustainable planting systems, with integrated drainage, aeration and root protection to sensitive boundaries/service routes.

• Creation of distinctive, and durable street furniture and signage which is reflective of local character and heritage.

NTA have over 20 years experience in the creation of exciting and durable streetscapes, parks, squares and gardens both throughout the UK and abroad. The practice’s overriding objective when approaching any commission is to create a sense of local identity and ‘Place’ which defines and reflects the users needs and the restraints of engineering and adoptability whilst maintaining high aesthetic standards. NTA have been involved in numerous community planning and workshop events where the design of streetscapes, parks, squares and gardens have been determined through an inclusive charette process.
